Dr John Moore-Gillon qualified in Medicine from the University of Cambridge and undertook postgraduate training in general medicine and respiratory medicine before being appointed Consultant Physician at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London in 1988. In training and as a Consultant, he spent over 30 years working in the East End of London where the rates of asbestos-related diseases are exceptionally high.
Dr Moore-Gillon has a major interest in the medicolegal aspects of asbestos related diseases. He is a Past President of the British Lung Foundation (BLF), and is currently the Chairman of the BLF’s Mesothelioma Research Network Steering Group. He lectures widely to medical and other audiences on the topics of mesothelioma, asbestosis and other conditions associated with asbestos exposure.
