Robin Howie Associates
Robin has been involved in occupational hygiene since 1974, was awarded a BERBOH Diploma in 1982 and was President of the Society in 1997-98. His main interests are in the areas of asbestos risk, noise induced hearing loss, heat stress/strain and in the reality of PPE performance in real workplaces. He has published over 100 articles, papers and reports. Over the past about 20 years he has been involved in over 800 legal cases.Robin has been involved in occupational hygiene since 1974, he gained a BERBOH Diploma in 1982. His main interests are in the areas of noise induced hearing loss, asbestos measurement and risk analysis and in the reality of PPE in the real world. During the early 1990s he designed and led a workplace study to determine the performance of PAPR during asbestos removal. This study led to adoption of APF in the UK.
